High Flow and Tight Sealing for Aggressive Media Applications

Thanks to its durable construction and range of compatible elastomers, Humphrey Products’ stainless steel diaphragm-poppet valves can handle some of the most difficult media. These 2- and 3-port valves are available in detented lever, remote air operated and solenoid air pilot operated designs.

The diaphragm-poppet mechanism utilizes the natural force of pressurized media to operate, allowing it to function reliably for millions of cycles. You can choose from FKM, EPDM, NBR and Aflas® (FEPM) elastomers to suit your unique application specifications. The stainless steel body is inert and durable, making it appropriate for controlling aggressive fluids like chemicals and cleaners, even in dirty or wet environments.

How Humphrey Diaphragm-Poppet Valves Work

2-port valve: Media fills the lower cavity of Port 1 and the underside of the diaphragm, causing the poppet to seal tightly. Pressurized media compresses the poppet into its seat. Once in its actuated position, the force applied to the diaphragm opens the flow path from Port 1 to Port 2. The force of the pilot air pressure compresses the top poppet, sealing it and closing the flow path to Port 3.

3-port valve: The 3-port design can provide dual pressure and media selection capabilities. It can also function as a diverter valve with source media from Port 2. When used as a normally closed valve, the 3-way function can double as a captured vent or drain.

Detented Lever

Manually control mild or aggressive media with our 3-port detented lever valve. The design is ideal as a shut-off valve for equipment and processes. The large handle features positive detents, that provide an excellent seal when in a closed position.

Remote Air Pilot

This aggressive media valve can be located near the point of use and piloted by other pneumatic valves mounted remotely using cost-effective compressed air pressure. They’re suitable for controlling difficult gases and liquids and with a full 1/4-inch orifice that yields high flow capacity.

External Air Pilot Solenoid

Our solenoid-operated, external air pilot valve is compatible with mild and aggressive media through the main body.  Media flow stops and seals tight at rest but opens for high flow capacity when actuated. The external air pilot pneumatic solenoid design allows for 2- and 3-port functions and is available in normally open and closed configurations.
