Machinist
Set-up and Operation/Milling and Turning
Humphrey Products Company, a Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of pneumatic valves and control components used in industries such as medical, instrumentation, distribution, agriculture and transportation has openings in the Machining Department’s 2nd shift which consists of four 10-hour days (M-Th/3:30 pm to 1:30 am).
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to operate multi-axis CNC equipment, read blueprints, use basic machining gages, and understand standard machining terminology and principles.
- Must be able to set up machines and work with a defined process to produce quality products.
- Must be able to demonstrate good judgement in decision making and problem solving.
- Special consideration will be given to applicants for: extensive knowledge of cutting tool technology, speed and feed selection, process control techniques, GD&T and leadership experience.
Humphrey Products specializes in short run production so candidates must also enjoy a variety of work. The pay rate will be set upon candidates experience level.

Humphrey Products is searching for a highly qualified Maintenance Supervisor to help maintain and improve our facilities, equipment and overall business. The individual will be responsible for leading the maintenance team, assuring plant systems are operational and compliant with regulations and that equipment up time meets targets set by management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain Equipment and Facilities
- Assure plant equipment meets up time targets, in coordination with operations and engineering.
- Assure PM plans are in place and executed in coordination with operations.
- Assure that facilities and systems provide appropriate support for operations and employees (includes over oversight of any supporting outside contractors).
- Responsible for maintaining first aid room and biohazards.
Ensure the Facility Complies with Regulations
- Responsible for ensuring the facility is compliant with the environmental regulations and that regular check-ups are carried out to verify that machinery, facilities and processes are compliant, including filing required reporting.
- Provide training for maintenance and plant personnel on meeting environmental regulations and other items such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) etc.
- Coordinates with MIOSHA and DEQ on compliance and inspections.
Department & Equipment Safety
- Implement safety policies and procedures for the maintenance department.
- Provide training to plant personnel on lockout tag-out and other safety items.
- Coordinates/participate on Safety Steering Committee.
Train Maintenance Personnel
- Equip and assure that maintenance personnel receive training that allows them to make rapid repairs and improvement to plant equipment and facilities.
Budgets and Project Plans
- Develop the maintenance and facilities budgets and capital plans. Develop plans and cost estimates as needed for construction, renovation, continuous improvement projects and major repair events.
- Quote and coordinate projects done by outside contractors; garbage disposal, lawn care, snow removal, fire protection, etc.
Spare Parts Coordination
- Assure spare parts are available for plant equipment and facilities.
- Assure spare parts system is organized and managed for inventory cost etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years’ experience in a maintenance supervisor or relevant experience, including team or work group leadership.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, fluid power, HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Interpersonal communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred BS in Engineering or related field, Master Electrician, or other skilled trade journeymen degree.

The Production Supervisor leads and manages the second-shift hourly workforce to effectively and efficiently meet manufacturing workflow requirements through team captains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Properly deploys resources to efficiently execute the production schedule.
- Accountable for all responsibilities delegated to Production Team Captains (see "Subtitle Dept Production Team Captain" job position record), such as ensuring compliant production set-up/execution and conducting on-the-job training.
- Champions High Performance Team (HPT) methodology and utilizes lean daily management processes (tiered meetings & support; leader standard work; visual controls).
- Cross-functional leadership: works with/through support functions to eliminate constraints and to achieve business results.
- Interprets and analyzes data to discover insights; utilizes performance metrics in decision making process.
- Predicts and resolves labor issues effectively, knowing when to escalate vs. defuse; properly and privately handles conflict resolution and other highly confidential employee information.
- Approaches performance management as an ongoing process (clear expectations; timely feedback; regular coaching; performance check-ins; conducts formal performance reviews; etc.).
- Leads regular communications with team pertaining to corporate and departmental performance. Serves as a link between subordinates and upper management.
- Review training of workforce to ensure they are properly trained, prior to assigning quality related tasks.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Production Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three 3+ years relevant work leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Collaborative and results driven; finds innovative solutions to solve problems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution capability and interpersonal savvy.
- Adept at developing and coaching individuals and teams to higher performance.
- Able to competently interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Experience using ERP/MRP in an IBM iSeries or equivalent platform environment.
- Intermediate+ skill using Microsoft Excel in practical applications.
- Able to maintain confidentiality related to business activities.
- Must be in current position for at least 12 months.
- Must have excellent attendance, good behavior and performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree major in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or similar field.
- Five (5) years supervisory/managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
- APICS and/or ISM certification(s).
- Experience using business intelligence software to create data queries and reports (e.g., SQL, Viewpoint, Power Bi)
- Blueprint reading.
- Experience in CNC milling or turning.
- Experience in pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systemic reading.

Humphrey Products Company is a Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of pneumatic valves and control components used in industries such as medical, instrumentation, distribution, agriculture, and transportation has an opportunity for a Sales Representative resident in California or close proximity.
The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities with both Distribution and OEM customers. They ensure that the customers’ expectations are met during the sales process and documents sale activities via the Humphrey Products Contact Manager. They are the primary interface/liaison between the customer and the greater organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new customers, applications, and markets.
- Provide support to existing customers and distributors within the region.
- Evaluate existing distributors based on performance, the introduction of new potential opportunities, provide Humphrey Products support in prospective sales data gathering. Search for new distributors in underperforming territories.
- Provide pre-sales application engineering services to accounts within the territory and coordinate additional services to be provided by the engineering team.
- Execute sales and marketing strategies.
- Perform demonstrations of product capabilities and features.
- Perform fieldwork with distributors to present new products and potential ES remedies to customers. Provide direct contact with prospective customers for opportunities best handled on a direct basis.
- Provide feedback and input to internal product management and development team.
- Provide weekly activity reports to company management via the Contact Manager.
- Create/Maintain New Business Opportunities via the contact manager.
- Provide monthly forecast information via the Sales Representative Performance Reports.
Travel:
- Up to 70% within region.
- Kalamazoo office (4-6 times per year).
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years professional engineering experience including 2+ years application / customer facing engineering experience with pneumatic or hydraulic electromechanical components and/or systems.
- Prefer Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical or Controls) but will considers experience in fluid power/pneumatics fields. Additional Business/Entrepreneurship focus, or degree preferred.
- Strong people skills, enjoys and excels at building and maintaining relationships.
- Strong computer-based communication tools acumen.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Able to prepare and deliver technical presentations.
- Enjoys working closely with small teams (work with engineers, project planners, production planners, to ensure we are not wasting time to bring products to fruition and deliver to customers).
- Enjoys working from a home office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently residing in California or in close proximity.
- In order to have Engineer as part of title must have a 4-year engineering degree.
