Reports to: Customer Service Supervisor

Primary Responsibility: The primary function of the Customer Service Representative is to provide order related information to internal and external customers. The goal of this department is maintaining an existing customer base.

Critical Success Factors: Accuracy of information, response time and attitude.

Specific responsibilities of Customer Service include:

  • Pricing/availability information (including existing specials).
  • Providing order status information on demand.
  • Order entry
  • Expediting orders
  • Fulfillment of warranty dispositions and delivery of service reports to customers. Including but not limited to: issuing/entering credits, entering repair/replace orders, writing reports, follow-up with Engineering.
  • Coordination of inside resources to address specific customer service problems.
  • Maintain sales information database accuracy.
  • Assure that policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in data analysis of MRP data to determine trends, future demand, customer buying patterns. Requires mastery of Excel skills using pivot tables, etc.
  • Special assignments/tasks as assigned by Customer Service Supervisor.

This individual will be highly skilled in written and verbal communication and possess excellent organizational skills. They must have a good working knowledge of Humphrey Products Company’s products, but it need not be highly technical. Possible paths of advancement (outside Customer Service) include: Demand Management, Production and Inventory Control and Sales.

The Digital Product Manager Associate will report to the Director of Product Management and Marketing. This individual will create and execute effective digital marketing and promotion strategies to increase website traffic and retention and provide key support in the Company’s efforts to establish a stronger internet presence. This includes responsibilities in the company’s ongoing efforts to develop the website into the primary resource of valuable content for the Company’s current customers and distributors (public and registered, and HSIS portal).

This person will have primary responsibility for production and post-production editing and support for video content for the Company’s catalog of digital assets. This will include the conversion of existing scripts and other printed information into a video format for display on the Company’s website and the internet.  Projects may include training and instruction videos, product use and installation videos and marketing, promotional and public relations videos. This individual will also provide support and assistance for various Market Research projects. Additionally, this individual will oversee the company’s online sales transactions and solicit feedback in order to continuously improve the user experience. 

This individual is expected to develop a strong technical understanding of Humphrey’s products as well as their application and use information which will allow them to provide day-to-day support for both Customer Service and Outside Sales, as needed. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Working under Product Managers, create and/or convert non-digital content into digital content for the company’s website including distributor training and user training on installation and product use.
  2. Assist in the development and deployment of content for the company’s website, as directed by the Director of Product Management and Marketing.
  3. Oversee the company’s eCommerce Sales Channel including monitoring of transactions and customer service follow up of online sales.
  4. Market Analysis and Reporting as requested by the Director of Product Management and Marketing
  5. Manage and enhance the company’s digital presence on Social Media
  6. Ensure key staff and distributors understand our website and HSIS portal, it’s content and the location, as technology and content is added and enhanced,
  7. Develops and maintains an internet marketing competency (B2B), staying current on technology and advancements,
  8. Works with website marketing suppliers to ensure accuracy and completeness of website information
  9. Management of a select number of product families (ie diaphragm-poppet type)
  10. Support of Customer Service, Sales, Engineering and Operations, as needed.

Machinist

Set-up and Operation/Milling and Turning

Humphrey Products Company, a Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of pneumatic valves and control components used in industries such as medical, instrumentation, distribution, agriculture and transportation has openings in the Machining Department’s 2nd shift which consists of four 10-hour days (M-Th/3:30 pm to 1:30 am). 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Must be able to operate multi-axis CNC equipment, read blueprints, use basic machining gages, and understand standard machining terminology and principles. 

  • Must be able to set up machines and work with a defined process to produce quality products.  

  • Must be able to demonstrate good judgement in decision making and problem solving.

  • Special consideration will be given to applicants for: extensive knowledge of cutting tool technology, speed and feed selection, process control techniques, GD&T and leadership experience. 

Humphrey Products specializes in short run production so candidates must also enjoy a variety of work. The pay rate will be set upon candidates experience level.

Humphrey Products Company is a Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of pneumatic valves and control components used in industries such as medical, instrumentation, distribution, agriculture, and transportation has an opportunity for a Sales Engineer resident in California or close proximity.

The Sales Engineer/Manager is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities with both Distribution and OEM customers. They ensure that the customers’ expectations are met during the sales process and documents sale activities via the Humphrey Products Contact Manager. They are the primary interface/liaison between the customer and the greater organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new customers, applications, and markets with a concentration on the Life Science Markets within the region.

  • Provide support to existing customers and distributors within the region.

  • Evaluate existing distributors based on performance, the introduction of new potential opportunities, provide Humphrey Products support in prospective sales data gathering. Search for new distributors in underperforming territories.
    • Provide pre-sales application engineering services to accounts within the territory and coordinate additional services to be provided by the engineering team.
    • Execute sales and marketing strategies.

    • Perform demonstrations of product capabilities and features.
  • Perform fieldwork with distributors and direct OEM customers to present new products and potential ES remedies to customers. Provide direct contact with prospective customers for opportunities best handled on a direct basis.

    • Provide feedback and input to internal product management and development team.

    • Provide weekly activity reports to company management via the Contact Manager.

    • Create/Maintain New Business Opportunities via the contact manager.

    • Provide monthly forecast information via the Sales Representative Performance Reports.

Travel:

  • Up to 70% within region.

  • Kalamazoo office (4-6 times per year).

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years professional engineering experience including 2+ years application / customer facing engineering experience with pneumatic or hydraulic electromechanical components and/or systems.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical or Controls). Additional Business/Entrepreneurship focus, or degree preferred.

  • Strong people skills, enjoys and excels at building and maintaining relationships.

  • Strong computer-based communication tools acumen.

  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Able to prepare and deliver technical presentations.

  • Enjoys working closely with small teams (work with engineers, project planners, production planners, to ensure we are not wasting time to bring products to fruition and deliver to customers).

  • Enjoys working from a home office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently residing in California or close proximity.
  • In order to have Engineer as part of title must have a 4-year engineering degree.
