QC Calibration Metrologist/Inspector

We are looking for a motivated person willing to learn and grow in a Team environment in our Quality area.  In this role you will be responsible for maintaining Calibration on all gauges in the system and activities that pertain to it. You may participate in validation and qualification activities. You may perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming parts, raw materials, subassemblies, and final assemblies according to written procedures and specifications. 

Job Duties Include:

  1. Conducting R & R Studies and Capability studies.
  2. Review of Quality records such as Calibration Certs., PCP’s, Control charts, etc. for accuracy. 
  3. Organize and summarize inspection/test results and prepare reports utilizing good documentation practices.
  4. Participate in internal, ISO and other audits as required. 
  5. Assist in verifying conformance of incoming parts and other inspection activities as required. 
  6. Initiate Material Complaint Notice reports on nonconforming material and provide support to Manufacturing/Assembly and Engineering when required. 
  7. Assist in RGA (Returned Goods Area) as required.
  8. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with customers, vendors, co-workers and management. 
  9. Other duties as assigned by management.


  1. Able to work in a Self Managed Work Team environment and follow written or oral instructions.
  2. Familiarity with calibration equipment such as gage blocks, thread rings and indicators would be a plus.
  3. Basic understanding of prints and specifications, tolerancing, uncertainties and GD&T and their interpretation, would be a plus. 
  4. If not familiar willing to complete approved course(s) to meet competency required.
  5.  Basic understanding of precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and being able to accurately report the results is a plus. 
  6. If not familiar willing to complete approved course(s) to meet competency required.
  7. Understanding the concept of traceability as it pertains to product, material, and calibration activities.
  8. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc) and willing to complete approved courses to meet competency required.
